Lawrence W. “Scot” or “Laurie”, Moore, died at home, June 22, 2006. Born in Glasgow, Scotland on June 17, 1927, he served in the 40th Commando Division of the British Royal Marines before fulfilling, in 1949, his boyhood dream of immigrating to America. In 1955, he became a citizen. Among other accomplishments, during his lengthy career in Retail, he headed up the Visual Merchandising divisions for Wieboldt’s and Goldblatt’s Department Stores. He kept active during retirement; hiking and working on the home and garden he shared, with his beloved wife of 34 years, Linda K. Moore, nee Taylor. He will be missed by his loving nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial celebration of his life will be held at 4 p.m. on July 15, 2006, in the garden of his home in Evanston.
