Tom Gandy, 50, of Berwyn, died on July 2, 2006, at MacNeal Hospital. He was born September 6, 1955, the son of Harvey and Pauline (Miley) Gandy. Tom married Nita (Mayor) on September 6, 1973. He was employed by J.C. Geyer Plumbing of Oak Park for 19 years. Tom was a loving husband, father and brother who was loyal and hardworking. He enjoyed the outdoors including camping, hunting and fishing. Tom also liked to cook and play his guitar. Above all else, he loved spending time with family and friends. Survived by wife, Nita; daughters Laura (Matthew) Froehlig and Angel (Ben Lynch) Gandy; siblings Harvey Jr., Donnie, Dean, Janet Cox, Wanda, Jobie, Tammy, Raymond, Arthur and Corrina; father, Harvey (Laura); numerous nieces, nephews, greatnieces and great-nephews. Preceded in death by his mother, Pauline; siblings, Barbara Ann and Johnny Wayne. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 7, at Bormann Funeral Home, 1600 Chicago Ave., Melrose Park. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Tom’s memory to the family’s discretion.
