After reading the article “2 abducted GIs dead; Soldiers were mutilated; military to probe why they were at isolated post” (News, June 21), I realized what a really miserable situation our soldiers are in in Iraq.
This story made me physically ill.
The story reported that Pfc. Kristian Menchaca and Pfc. Thomas Tucker were abducted, tortured, beheaded and mutilated.
On one hand they face a vicious enemy that has no rules of decency.
And on the other hand there’s the U.S. government and certain people here and everywhere else in the world scrutinizing every move they make–just waiting for them to make a mistake so they can be arrested, convicted and thrown in jail, so we can show the world how fair and wonderful we really are.
I strongly feel that they are actually fighting with one hand tied behind their backs.
We should either remove the handcuffs so they go on and win this war or let’s bring them home.
