As a registered voter who is proud to say she lives in Chicago, doesn’t Cook County politics get a bad rap as it is? John Stroger should not be able to “appoint” someone to run on the ticket. If the person wasn’t there in the primary, too bad. Stroger’s people messed up when they left him on the ballot and the runner-up should receive the position.

Or here’s a democratic idea: Have a special election.
