How many more people (and, more significant, children) must lose fingers, hands, arms or eyes before people wake up to the reality that unsupervised fireworks equal sheer stupidity? Explosive fireworks are illegal in the state of Illinois. Is “illegal” too big a word for people these days? Why are there at least 17 billboards (yes, they have been counted–12 of them belong to one company) announcing sales of fireworks in Indiana along Interstate Highway 80/94 from Markham to the Indiana border? If they’re not legal in this state, why are the billboards even allowed within Illinois state lines?
