Lawrence Joseph Domkowski, formerly from Glen Ellyn, IL died on July 11, 2006 in Ludington, MI. He was 74 years old. Survivors include his loving and dedicated wife of 49 years, Theresa A. Domkowski; his beloved children, Lawrence J. (Lisa) Domkowski Jr., Donna (Guy) Sawyer, Joreen J. (Joel) Redeker, Jacqueline L. (Dave) Wyrick; eight adoring grandchildren, Jonathan H. Redeker, Bethany L. Redeker, Joseph A. Sawyer, Sara A. Sawyer, Audrey M. Redeker Jackson D. Wyrick, Matthew L. Domkowski and Luke A. Wyrick. Larry celebrated his 20 year anniversary of sobriety and was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He was a United States Veteran from the Korean War serving in the Air Force. The first 20 years of his career, he worked for Sears Roebuck in management followed by 20 years teaching and selling the Dale Carnegie Course. His passion was his last 20 years participating, serving and encouraging others in Alcoholics Anonymous. The last 6 years of his life with his wife, Theresa, he resided at Twin Points Resort on Hamlin Lake in Ludington, MI. He loved sailing, fishing and public speaking. Visitation will be at the Alexander-Rye Funeral Home, Ludington, MI, Friday, July 14, 2006 from 5 to 7 p.m. and funeral services will be on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Saint Simon’s Church in Ludington, MI. A memorial service in the Chicago area will be arranged for later in August.
