Benjamin S. Daniel, age 83, WW II Veteran, beloved husband of the late Gladys; loving father of Kris and Mark (Diana) Daniel; dear brother of George (Maureen), Margaret “Marge” and the late Slim (Ruth) Daniel; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Ben was a CPA for some 59 years. He was a partner with Arnold N. Schorn & Co. He was a former chairman of the St. Ignatius Parish Finance committee. He was a member of the Ledger Qull Society at DePaul University and a member of the Illinois CPA Society. He was a PGK of University Council #1687 (K of C) and also a former District Deputy, he was also a former master of the 4th Degree for the Northern District of Illinois. Among some other of his accomplishments, he was a former director of the CYO and MRLD and a former Registered Agent for the Illinois State Council K of C Charities Inc. Ben was a member of the board of directors of Orchard Village and the National Anti-Vivisection Society. He was also a member of the 8th Air Force Society and was the Knight Commander of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. Funeral will be Monday, July 17 at 9:30 a.m. from the John E. Maloney Funeral Home, 1359 W. Devon Avenue to St. Ignatius Church. Mass 10 a.m. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
