James H. Murray, age 77, a 40 year resident of Crete, passed away in his home on July 13, 2006. Beloved husband of Shirley, nee Hill; loving father of Ellen (Thomas) Brennan, James (Robin) Murray; dear grandfather of Margaret, Timothy, Katherine, and Caroline; brother of John P. (Kay) Murray. He was preceded in death by his parents Russell C. and Marie D. Murray and a brother Russell D. Murray. Jim was born on July 27, 1928 in Chicago. He was a graduate of Leo High School, University of Illinois Navy Pier, and Roosevelt University. He proudly served his country in the 82nd Airborne, 101st Division. Jim was formerly Vice President of Claire Manufacturing Company in Addison, a member of Crete Lions Club and First Presbyterian Church in Chicago Heights. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 19, at 11 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, 900 Thomas St., Chicago Heights. Private burial, at a later date, will be at Adams Cemetery, Crete. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to United Cerebral Palsy Fund, 160 N. Wacker Dr., Chicago, IL 60606 or charity of donor’s choice.
