Here’s the real test for the American Idols: their concert tour.
Entertainment Weekly took a peak at the Season 5 singers during their stop in East Rutherford, N.J., and the reviews were mixed:
— Chris Daughtry rocked (surprised?) and looked like the group’s best hope for a lasting career.
— Daughtry’s duet with Elliott Yamin dazzled–just as Daughtry previously promised.
— Ace Young ramped up the cheese factor, tracing tears down his face during a couple of ballads and “tapping his head meaningfully on the word ‘mind.’ “
— He’s-Just-Not-That-Into-You Alert: Mandisa again made her pitch for former Idol Ruben Studdard, this time during the song “If I Was Your Woman.” She sang, “R-U-B-E-N/I wanna be your woman.”
