– The modeling industry is all about who’s young, who’s hot and who’s next. Or is it? Linda Evangelista, 41 and pregnant, is on the cover of the August issue of Vogue. She’s the first model, not a Hollywood star, to be featured on the magazine’s cover in more than a year. Evangelista, whose baby is due this fall, says there won’t be a “comeback” after the birth–because she doesn’t plan on going away.
– John Cusack won a temporary restraining order Tuesday against a woman he claims has been stalking him for more than 18 months. Emily Leatherman must stay at least 500 feet from the 40-year-old actor, his home, workplace, car and any company or office where he does business, Superior Court Judge Linda Lefkowitz ruled in Santa Monica, Calif. Cusack was not in court for the ruling.
– “Bridget Jones’s Diary” author Helen Fielding has had a baby girl, People.com reports. The baby was born on Sunday and weighed in at 6 pounds, 3 ounces. “She’s gorgeous but yet-to-be-named,” Fielding’s rep, Catherine Olim, said in a statement. This is the second child for the 48-year-old British writer and her longtime partner, Kevin Curran, 49, an executive producer and writer on “The Simpsons.” The Los Angeles-based couple also have a 2-year-old son, Dashiell.
– Scarlett Johansson will join Natalie Portman (Anne Boleyn) and Eric Bana (King Henry VIII) in “The Other Boleyn Girl,” Variety.com reports. The movie is based on Phillippa Gregory’s historical novel. Johansson will play Mary Boleyn.
– Country singer Mindy McCready testified Tuesday that she thought police had pulled her over to “give her a hard time”–not because they thought she was driving under the influence. “Way back when–when I used to have hit records 10 years ago–I would get pulled over a lot and had officers ask me to do the strangest things. Once an officer asked me to dance for his camera,” she told jurors during her trial in Nashville for a May 2005 DUI stop.
