Daniel Louis Baas, 55, passed away Monday, July 17, 2006. He was a pilot for UPS and a retired Captain of the Navy. He was member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and a 1972 Naval Academy graduate. He was preceded in death by his father, Malcolm Louis Baas. Survivors include; his wife, Ronna Cooper Baas; his eight year old daughter, Schuyler Brittany Baas; his 10 year old son, Daniel Cooper Baas; his mother, Margaret F. Baas; sister, Stephanie Baas; two brothers, Gregory and Stephen Baas; his in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Cooper. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1000 N. Beckley Station Rd., with burial in Floydsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Pearson-Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Rd., in Middletown, KY. Memorial contributions may be made to his church in his memory.
