Shhhhhhhhh.

Hear that hissing? It’s the sound of disgruntled movie critics who’ve just heard the news that they won’t get to see “Snakes on a Plane” before normal folks like us.

According to eonline.com, New Line has decided against allowing critics to preview the campy horror film before it opens in late-night showings Aug. 17.

“Understanding that [fans] would be the driving force behind the film, we decided early on they should be the first to see it,” the studio said this week.

Usually when a film isn’t screened before it hits theaters, it’s a tanker. But it looks as if the studio is banking on the online buzz the Samuel L. Jackson-fronted flick is netting to fill theater seats.
