Peter James Tanke, was born on Oct. 28, 1942, in Chicago, IL, and died July 18, 2006, in Geneva, IL. He is survived by his wife Jeanne; his father Isadore; and his father’s wife Judy; sisters, Debbie, Terri and Leann; children, Craig Pagenkopf, Kirk Pagenkopf, Cher Vlach, Derek Tanke and Kerry Ceszyk; one nephew; and 12 grandchildren. His mother Stella and his daughter Caryl preceded him in death. Peter spent 38 years in law enforcement as a DuPage County Sheriff, Federal Agent and Private Investigator. Funeral services will be private. Public visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Yurs-Wittenberg Funeral Home, 1771 W. State St. (Rte. 38), Geneva, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family plans to help support an American Indian School Library with the purchase of childrens books.
