Chester A. Mocek, age 89, a Naperville, IL, resident since 1991, formerly of Chicago, IL, died Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Edward Hospital, Naperville. He was born July 15, 1917 in Chicago. Chester is survived by two sons, Bob (Bess) Mocek of Naperville and Greg (Nancy) Mocek of Downers Grove, IL; five grandchildren, Alex, Douglas, Elizabeth, Joan (Michael) Cetera and Rita (Chris) Mannelli; a great-grandson Jackson Adam Ceterak; and a niece Kathleen (Timothy) Tiernan. He was preceded in death by his wife Tess Mocek; his parents Albert and Catherine Mocek; and four siblings, Wanda, Walter, Michael and Mary Mocek. Chester served in the U.S. Army, part of a coastal artillery unit, during World War II in the Pacific Theater (Philippine Islands, New Guinea). He was a patrolman for the Chicago Police Department for 33 years, assigned to the Criminal Court Building, 26th & California for 20 of those years. Visitation Saturday, 9 to 11 a.m. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. Funeral Services will follow Saturday, 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
