I am completely amazed at how the Cook County Democratic commissioners completely ignored the will of the voters in the primary election and chose a poorly qualified Todd Stroger to take his father’s place as candidate for Cook County Board president.

What was wrong with Forrest Claypool, who came within a hair of winning the primary? This selection can best be compared to the anointing of a prince to rule his father’s kingdom.

I am one Democrat who will vote for the Republican candidate, whatever his name is, come November.

Don’t expect blind party loyalty from me.
