There was a serious energy surge among the crowd and players when Rex Grossman took his place on the field at the start of training camp.
Grossman had some precise throws and had the edge for the day on Brian Griese, though it’s always difficult to judge completely without knowing play-calls and required reads.
Grossman to Bernard Berrian deep and to Cedric Benson in traffic over the middle were highlights early, and his touch pass to John Gilmore, over one defensive back and in front of another, was good for 20 yards and a crowd roar.
