Randy Martens’ suggestion to “sit back and enjoy the heat” seemed rather callous when the news has been reporting numerous deaths and widespread electricity problems across the country (“Enjoy warming,” Voice of the people, July 26). Global warming is a serious problem, and the last thing we should do is get used to it. I understand Martens’ point that it seems useless to try to fight it, but his refusal to try is what frustrates me.
