I felt compelled to respond to the disappointing feature story on my town, Kenosha (“Kenosha: One-time home of the Rambler,” Tempo, July 14). I enjoyed the previous articles in the “End of the line” series, and was looking forward to a showcase of some of the exciting sights and sounds of Kenosha. What appeared, however, did little to promote our growing, vibrant community.
While Tribune senior correspondent Charles Leroux mentioned the “private Lake Michigan views,” the harbor marketplace, “fine restaurants” and “elegant old homes,” none was pictured. Photos of a boy mowing his lawn and dogs racing do little to inform readers of the ongoing revitalization of Kenosha’s downtown, our beautiful (and free!) lakefront public museum, the strong residential market or the many cultural, social and historical opportunities that Kenosha offers. I hope visitors will come and see for themselves what makes Kenosha worth a trip to “the end of the line.” ———- Editor’s note: Readers may now post comments on letters to the editor that have been published in the Chicago Tribune by visiting chicagotribune.com/letters
