Jack Silber, 89; devoted son of the late Isaac and Jennie; beloved brother of the late Bess (the late Jack) Jacobson and Max (the late Dracia) Silber; loving uncle of Deena (Dr. Samuel) DeNosaquo, Sandra Glassman, Norman (Nancy) Silber and Dr. Jeffrey (Laurel) Silber and the late William Jacobson; beloved great and great-great Uncle of many. Professor Silber joined the faculty of Roosevelt University in 1946 and served as Chairman of the Department of Mathematics from 1966-1987. He helped develop Operations Analysis in the Pacific during WWII and was Chief of the Operations Analysis Office, 5th Air Force, during the Korean War. He helped found the North Center for Handicapped Children. Jack shared his humor, energy, brilliance and creativity with all who knew him. He will be dearly missed. Service Tuesday, 1 p.m., at Am Yisrael Congregation, 4 Happ Road, Northfield. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
