Robert Lee Sweitz, 59, of Beach Park, IL, passed away early Saturday morning, July 29, 2006, at home. He was born January 2, 1947, in Chicago, IL, and married Susan Lopez on December 16, 1989, in Waukegan. He was employed as an electrician for IBEW Local #150 for 37 years and was a member of the Antioch Moose Lodge. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam Era having served with the United States Army in Germany. He loved Labrador Retrievers and loved to hunt. He is survived by his wife Susan; one daughter Julie Sweitz, of Lindenhurst, IL; two stepchildren, Tamara (Ken) Free of Wadsworth, IL, and Dominic Lopez of Waukegan, IL; one granddaughter, Addisyn Skwerski, as well as his mother Helene Sweitz of Lake Villa, IL. He was preceded in death by his father Lemoine in 1986. Memorial services will be held at the Salata Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2006. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. Wednesday until time of service only. Interment will be private at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights, IL.
