EVENT OF THE WEEK
Emphasis on diversity in leadership
The MBADiversity Organization is hosting its second Diversity Symposium and Social for prospective and current MBA students. It will be held Saturday at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business’ Gleacher Center, 450 N. Cityfront Plaza Drive.
The event will focus on how multicultural buying power has turned into a multibillion-dollar industry and highlight the need for under-represented groups (women, African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Hispanics and Native Americans) to assume leadership positions at major corporations. Participants will attend workshops and network with employers and admissions officers from top MBA programs.
Keith Clinkscales, a Harvard Business School alum and senior vice president of ESPN magazine, will deliver the keynote speech entitled “Fortitude: Triumph in the Face of Adversity,” at 9:30 a.m.
Other speakers include: Feddy Pouideh, author of “The Blushing MBA,” and Karlin Sloan, founder and president of Karlin Sloan & Co., an executive coaching company.
