Pet deaths at groomers around the country in the past year have caught the attention of lawmakers, spurring legislators in many states to consider more tightly regulating the pet grooming industry. The Council of Better Business Bureaus in Arlington, Va., said there were 340 complaints against groomers in 2005, up 50 percent from 2000.
