Grossman: Did not rebound with the kind of practice he and the Bears would have liked after struggling in the exhibition opener in San Francisco. Grossman underthrew Bernard Berrian on a fly pattern and allowed Charles Tillman to catch up and make the interception. He also threw to Berrian on a short sideline route, but rookie safety Danieal Manning jumped in and headed to the end zone with an interception.

Griese: Had a pass deflected by defensive tackle Dusty Dvoracek and was nearly intercepted by Leon Joe, but he was generally as consistent and controlled with his throws as he was against the 49ers. No QB controversy whatsoever, but the Bears have the best No. 2 they’ve had in years.
