Padraig Harrington’s Irish eyes aren’t smiling at the PGA. Harrington, like everyone in golf, is mourning Sunday’s death of Darren Clarke’s wife, Heather. Harrington, a close friend of the Clarkes, admits he’s distracted. “Normally you’d be focused on what you’re doing,” said Harrington, whose father died of cancer last year. “The last 48 hours has been strongly thinking about Darren, the kids and the whole situation … I won’t necessarily try and block it out or I’m not going to dwell on it either. I’m just going to see how it goes.” Urged by Clarke to play, Harrington will donate his winnings to cancer research. “I’d be delighted to hand over whatever,” he said. “When you go to funerals you can’t be of much help anyway, but this is a practical way of helping.”
