He doesn’t want to talk about Ken Williams, Ozzie Guillen or how he has outhit Jim Thome over the last three months.

He would prefer not to talk about Chicago at all, but Frank Thomas misses the place where he spent 16 seasons as perhaps the greatest White Sox player of all time.

Oakland has changed Thomas in ways he struggles to explain.

“It’s just a good fit,” said a happier and healthier Thomas.

In Oakland, the A’s have leaned on Thomas’ leadership almost as much as his bat. “One man’s trash is another’s treasure,” A’s teammate Nick Swisher said. “He’s been our treasure.”
