‘Arrested Development: Season 3’
FOX, $29.98
Who’s in it: Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, David Cross
Recap: The nutty but brilliant TV comedy never stood a chance against Fox’s erratic rescheduling, but at least it was able to finish its short run with style.
Best extra: “The Last Day on Location” contains thoughts and observations from the cast and crew on the final day of filming, when they knew the show was being canceled.
Secrets revealed: The deleted and extended scenes hint at just how much is left on the cutting-room floor when shooting a sitcom.
Feature to skip: The blooper reel probably would be funnier if the cast were your actual friends and not just, you know, actors.
Trivia: Rumor has it an “Arrested Development” movie may be in the works.
If you liked this, try: The telling first line of Leo Tolstoy’s “Anna Karenina.”

‘Romancing the Stone: Special Edition’
FOX, $19.98
Who’s in it: Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, Danny DeVito
Recap: Taking advantage of “Indiana Jones” mania, “Romancing the Stone” offers similar thrills with tongue planted even more firmly in cheek.
Best extra: All three actors turn up in interviews for enthusiastic storytelling.
Secrets revealed: “Romancing the Stone” was the first and only film written by Diane Thomas, who died in a car wreck a year after it premiered.
Feature to skip: “Douglas, Turner and DeVito: Favorite Scenes” is just what it sounds like–but really, who cares?
Trivia: Douglas produced the movie “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” in which DeVito appeared.
If you liked this, try: “Big Trouble in Little China,” a similarly weird and manic (though far more macho) action movie.
RATING: 2 PLAYS
Best of the Rest: “Pretty In Pink: Everything’s Duckie Edition” (Paramount, $14.99); “Akeelah and the Bee” (Lions Gate, $28.98); “Some Kind of Wonderful: Collector’s Edition” (Paramount, $14.99)
