A 14-game losing streak on the road is part of the baggage Illinois is taking to Rutgers. The Illini’s last road victory was at Northwestern in the final game of 2002. . . . Illinois coach Ron Zook is very impressed with the running ability of Ray Rice, who scored three touchdowns in leading Rutgers to a 21-16 come-from-behind victory at North Carolina last weekend. “It’s hard to get 201 yards in the air and he got 201 on the ground,” Zook said. “When I first saw that stat, I thought I was good to see some long runs. When I turned the tape on, the thing that stood out the most was that he gets 4 [yards] here, 8 there, 10 here, 12 there. I don’t mean this in a bad way.”
