Treasure: Donovan McNabb

Eesh. Tough opening day for the top of the draft board with no TDs from Shaun Alexander (51 yards, fumble) or Larry Johnson (68 yards). But after throwing for 314 yards and three TDs, this mid-round pick finished with that familiar smile, evidently really happy with Donte’ Stallworth, who had four catches for 124 yards and a TD by half.

Off course: Terrell Owens

The T.O. Show is now playing in its third venue in four seasons, and he hauled in a 21-yard TD catch in his Dallas debut. He also made key grabs in two first-quarter scoring drives. But Owens gets a middling grade for a solid, not spectacular, game. Don’t fret, though. The real T.O. will stand up soon–on and off the field (sorry, Bill Parcells).

Shipwreck: Jake Plummer

Calling Cutler, calling Jay Cutler! Broncos fans certainly will be clamoring for the Broncos’ rookie QB after their starter played more like Jake the Flake, throwing three picks and losing a fumble. Denver had 16 turnovers all last season. Yikes. Don’t go giving up on Plummer just yet, though a benching is certainly in order.
