I’m impressed with the sharp Chicago City Council and its wonderful efforts regarding the “big-box” laws for a living wage. But if the council members are so concerned for the workers of Chicago, I have a suggestion: Why not lower the taxes on Chicago workers?

Lower taxes would give workers more money in their pockets, the obvious goal of “living-wage” laws. And they’d be giving away money they control, as opposed to someone else’s money (even considering taxes are really not their money in the first place).
