SAFE BOATING

The Skokie Valley Sail and Power Squadron will offer safe boating classes beginning Sept. 19 at Hersey High School in Arlington Heights and Oct. 19 at Northbrook Junior High in Northbrook. The classes will meet two hours once a week for eight weeks. They start at 7:30 p.m. Classes are free though materials cost $45. Call Karl at 847-729-6075.

CLASSIC CAR RALLY

The 29th annual Lake Geneva Classic Car Rally begins Sept. 22 with a Taste of the Rally reception and features poker runs Sept. 23 and 24. Events are based at Interlaken Resort on Wisconsin Highway 50. They benefit the American Cancer Society. Call 262-248-2764 or visit www.classiccarrally.net.

FALL VALPO-FEST

Motorcycle and car shows are on tap for the Fall Valpo-Fest Sept. 23 at the Porter County Fairgrounds in Valparaiso, Ind. The show, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., will feature cycles and cars competing in up to 75 categories. The fee to show either is $20. Spectator admission costs $7 for adults and $2 for kids younger than 12. AIRLINE COLLECTIBLES

The Chicagoland Airline Collectibles Fall Show is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Holiday Inn, 1000 Busse Rd., Elk Grove Village. ANTIQUE BOATS

The Blackhawk Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society presents the annual Geneva Lakes Antique Boat Show Sept. 23-24 at the Abbey Resort in Fontana, Wis. More than 70 boats are expected from the early 1900s up to contemporary wood vessels. The boat show runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 23 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 24. RADIO-CONTROLLED PLANES

The Palos Radio Control Flying Club will host a Giant Scale Air Show kicks off at 9 a.m. Sept. 24 at Morrill Meadow, La Grange Road and 107th Street, Palos Hills. Academy of Model Aeronautics members are invited to fly any radio-controlled aircraft with 80-inch wingspan or larger. Biplanes may be 60-inch wingspan or larger. ANTIQUE CYCLES

The Midwest Antique and Classic Motorcycle Club hosts its 34th annual Antique Classic Motorcycle Show Sept. 24 at the Boone County Fairgrounds in Belvidere. The show, which includes a bike and parts flea market, goes from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The registration fee of $5 is refunded at 3 p.m. Spectator admission costs $5. Call Kent Bass at 847-365-3271.

COLLECTOR CAR CORRAL
