This is regarding an interesting political cartoon you chose for The Gallery on Saturday.

President Bush is holding a “political football” labeled “9/11” and a donkey is holding another “political football” labeled “Iraq,” as if their treatment of these tragedies–as the cartoon calls them–is comparable.

There is a key difference, and that is that the Iraq tragedy was caused by Bush administration misjudgments, which continue to cost lives on a daily basis.

There is really no comparison between the war and a terrorist attack, especially one for which this administration chose to ignore the stark warnings.
