I would like to remind Jo Volkening that John F. Kennedy, like Barack Obama, was a first-term senator whose lack of a voting record was actually an asset. Just ask John Kerry about that, or any other multi-term senator who has run for president. Plus JFK was 43 when he ran for president, a young man for those times. Obama is 45.
