Senior Panthers running back Vincent Webb earned his second Ohio Valley Conference offensive player of the week honor against Samford on Saturday. He rushed for a career-high 208 yards in a 24-13 victory. Last season he ran for 147 yards against the Bulldogs. Webb moved into fifth place in Eastern Illinois rushing and has 3,386 career yards. He ranks third in Division I-AA in rushing with 139.5 yards per game. . . . The Panthers (2-2) successfully opened defense of their OVC title with the victory. The Panthers, ranked 20th in the I-AA poll, make their third trip to Hawaii on Saturday night. They also played there in 1999 and 2002.
