Salma Hayek got downright ugly recently defending her new TV show, “Ugly Betty.”
“The title has a lot to do with the tone of the show,” said Hayek, who is producing the ABC series. “I think it’s sarcastic. I don’t think Betty is really ugly.”
The movie star went on to talk about society’s definition of beauty–and to take a swipe at skinny models.
“What do we call ugly now? Anybody who is not superskinny and really tall,” the 5-foot-2 beauty said. “I personally have seen a lot of really skinny, tall models who I think are ugly. We’re just making fun of the people who would think that [Betty’s] ugly.”
