After just two weeks it’s apparent Ohio State and Michigan are the teams to beat in the Big Ten. But that doesn’t mean everyone else will just play out the string because there are bowl games to qualify for, programs to build and maybe some teams to dismantle.

At Indiana, you have to wonder if the Hoosiers program ever will get a break. Terry Hoeppner looked like the coach to return Indiana to respectability, but his two brain surgeries have set the program back.

The Indiana game was one Wisconsin was supposed to win and one it needed to win. The first Big Ten victory for Badgers coach Bret Bielema showed his team has the ability to earn a nice bowl bid.

The Indiana press box was alive with reports from the Illinois-Michigan State game.

This was a big shot for the Illini and their rebuilding plans.

It was a huge blow to the Spartans, and likely a big strike against embattled coach John L. Smith. Someday he’ll be great on TV.

Did I hear the Illini planted their flag at midfield and a ruckus ensued? Guess the Spartans know how Notre Dame felt last year when they did the same thing. Still, planting the flag causes nothing but trouble.

Act like you’ve been there, even if you haven’t for quite some time.
