– Audi has recalled 36,000 2003-04 A8 sedans over problems with drivers’ air bags that may not fully inflate. . 9-10-06
– Ford has recalled 1.2 million 1994-02 F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 F-Series Super Duty trucks; 2000-02 Excursion SUVs; 1994-96 Econoline and 1996-2002 E-450 vans; and 1998 Explorers and Mercury Mountaineers with a cruise control switch that can catch fire. 8-13-06
– Honda is sending U.S. owners of 1.19 million of its 2006 and 2007 cars, trucks and motorcycles–including the 2006 Accord and Civic and 2007 Fit–corrected information for contacting NHTSA. 8-6-06
– Chrysler is recalling 832,000 2002-06 Jeep Liberty SUVs that can lose steering control. 8-6-06
– Toyota is recalling about 420,000 vehicles globally, including 24,490 Echo and Yaris cars and 8,476 Prius hybrids sold in the U.S., over a faulty engine part. 7-23-06
– Toyota is recalling 367,500 2004-05 Highlander and Lexus RX300 SUVs and 2006 Highlander Hybrid and Lexus RX400h SUVs to fix clips that may cause a panel to fall onto the accelerator. 7-16-06
– Toyota is recalling about 157,000 2003-05 Tundra pickups to remove a switch that allows passenger-side air bags to be deactivated. 7-16-06
– Nissan is recalling 97,000 2006 Altima and Sentra sedans with 2.5-liter engines after reports of excessive oil consumption and engine fires led the automaker to stop selling the vehicles. . 7-2-06
– Chrysler Group is recalling about 111,000 2003-04 Jeep Grand Cherokees after receiving reports of heated seats that caused fires. 6-18-06
– Chrysler Group is recalling 131,500 2000 and 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs with 4-liter engines because the plastic blades in the cooling fan could separate and cause an injury. 6-18-06
– Honda is recalling more than 78,000 1994-97 Odyssey minivans and CR-V SUVs exported from Japan to replace a faulty part in the starter. 6-18-06
– Toyota is recalling some 170 ,000 2004-06 Prius sedans in the U.S. because the steering shaft assembly could crack or become loose. 6-4-06
– Volkswagen is recalling 362,000 1999-2002 Jetta and 1998-2002 Beetle sedans with automatic transmission and cruise control because the brake lights could malfunction. 6-4-06
– Volvo is recalling about 108,000 2003-06 XC90 SUVs because of problems with front ball joints could make it difficult to steer the vehicle when parking. 5-21-06
– GM is recalling about 400,000 2004-06 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon and 2006 Isuzu i-280 and i-350 pickups to repair brake lights. 5-7-06
– Ford is recalling nearly 150,000 2005 Escape and Mercury Mariner SUVs to improve driver’s head protection. 4-23-06
– Ford is recalling 19,140 2003-04 Mustang Cobra sports cars over complaints that the accelerator pedal could become caught in the carpeting . 4-16-06
– Lexus will recall about 29,000 2006 GS and IS sedans to correct faulty parts in the seat-belt tensioner. 4-16-06
