Devoted husband to Gaida, nee Kiusalas, for 58 years; loving father of John (Susan), William (Maribeth) and Erik Datavs Sr.; proud grandfather of Daniel, Jason, Amber, Michael Datavs, Kimberly (Matt) Stowe, Dawn (Fred) Medina, William J. (Angie), Erik Jr., Justin, Brandon, Alicia Datavs; fond greatgrandfather of Jason Jordan, Alex, Jacob, Katiebell Stowe, William III, Marissa and Isabella Datavs. Visitation Wednesday, 9 a.m. until time of service, 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, Hennessy-Bruno Funeral Director, 17W201 Roosevelt Rd. (between Rt. 83 & Summit Ave.). Interment Oak Ridge Cemetery. Vilis dedicated most of his life to the boy scouts, serving at one time as commissioner. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
