Strong numbers on Thursday for ABC’s “Ugly Betty.” I’m still not convinced America’s in love with ugly people, but I’m taking it as a good sign.

3. Greater than average
A new survey finds that men are just as likely as women to be compulsive shoppers, but, to be fair, Elton John is flat-out killing our average.
4. Tuned out
We’d like to give “Rock Star: Supernova” winner Lukas a break, but even his air guitar is melodramatic and unfocused.
5. Tall tales
An old-time Hollywood agent tells the New York Post he once set up a one-night stand between Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe. Legend has it Elvis put on a Tupac record to set the mood.
6. Reality bites
I missed it, but apparently Carlton from “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” won the first season of Fox’s “Celebrity Duets.” That should give him momentum heading into “So You Think You Can Find Another Paycheck.”
7. TBD
Guns N’ Roses just announced a new tour. Unfortunately they didn’t announce which of the listed cities they’re actually going to show up at.
8. Scratch that
A Utah woman reportedly has made Guinness Book history with fingernails that measure a combined 24 feet, 7 inches. I’m guessing she doesn’t send many text messages.
9. Press onward
Part of me admires fingernail-woman’s dedication. The temptation to claw her eyes out whenever “Deal or No Deal” comes on must be staggering.
