Steve Chapman’s assessment of how to deal with the Iranian threat was very well done and we hope is being considered by the U.S. administration. He barely mentioned the biggest problem with Iran having nuclear weapons. That is the danger of these nuclear weapons falling into the hands of terrorists (as if the entire Iranian government is not a terrorist itself). These weapons could easily be given to the terrorists in such a way that it would be very difficult to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they came from Iran. In that way when the terrorists used them, it would be very difficult for the U.S. or much more so the United Nations to attack Iran for being responsible. The Iranian government cannot be trusted in any way. It will lie, make treaties, sign agreements, etc. and then simply ignore them or make excuses as to why their actions are still justified.
I am not so sure that, as Chapman writes, “there are worse things than having to coexist with a nuclear-armed enemy.”
