I LOVE …
… going to Murphy’s Bleachers (3655 N. Sheffield Ave.), especially when the Cubs aren’t playing, and having the steak sandwich and a bowl of one of their hearty soups.
–Walter Brzeski, Chicago
… the chocolate cake at Portillo’s (www.portillos.com). The taste is fabulous and easy on the pocket book.
–Anna Wildermuth, Elmhurst
… the chicken Oreganto at Rosebud on Taylor Street (1500 W. Taylor St.). The lemon and wine sauce is heavenly–especially on the roasted potatoes.
–Linda Bergstrom, editor
… dancing in the moonlight.
–Monica Eng, reporter
I HATE …
… when cashiers at sporting events seem to be oblivious that there is a game in progress, and would rather talk and joke with their co-workers than get your food.
–Chris Nugent, Woodridge
… ordering nachos at Crown Theatre in Skokie. The nachos chips are too big to fit into the melted cheese container, so I have to break each chip in half before dipping.
–Stacey Curley, Chicago
… people who say, “I could care less,” when what they mean to say is, “I COULDN’T care less.”
–Bill McLean, Palatine
