George J. Zima, age 68, “Never had a bad day in my life.” A retired Chicago Police Officer with 26 years of service. During his 16 year battle with cancer, George continued to enjoy time with his family at the lake house, the game of golf, Chicago Bears football, sailing on Time Due, travels with Nancy and meetings with good friends. His battle was lost on October 7. Cherished husband and best friend of Nancy, nee Jennings; beloved father of Michael (Sharon) and Robert (Amy); loving Papa of Anika, George, Lillian, Emmett and Hayden; dear brother of Leonica (Donald) Darby; fond brother-in-law for 43 years of Patrick (Rita) Jennings, Jack Jennings, Steve Molinari, Lori (Jerry) Leska and Maureen (Damian) McKenna. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins and numerous supportive friends. A loyal friend of Bill W. for 29 years. We love you George and today we are all having a bad day.
