Jan Mikucki, age 86, beloved husband of Sabina, nee Baginska, for 63 years; loving father of Krystyna (Slawomir) Trzaska, Wieslaw (Marianne) Mikucki, Barbara (Pascal) Colletier and Christopher (Catherine) Mikucki; cherished Dzia dzia of Robert (Maria), Andre (Diana), Mark (Christine), Karen (Todd), Gregory (Krisztina), Tracy (Bill), Michael John, Stefanie, Nicolas, Olivia and great-dzia dzia of 11. Survived by brother, Frank (Maria) Mikucki; and sisters, Jadwiga Ejsmont and Irena. He is preceded in death by brothers, Alexander and Waclaw and sisters, Heronina and Zofia; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Jan was always quick with a smile and was known to spontaneously break out into song. He was an avid reader, especially history books and enjoyed traveling. He and Sabina spent many years dividing their time between the U.S. and Poland. There they were involved in a number of philanthropic activities such as building the school and rebuilding the church in their town. He will be dearly missed. Funeral Friday 9:30 a.m. from Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine, to St. Theresa Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery.
