Don’t mess with the diva.
At her Monday night concert in New York, the famously liberal Barbra Streisand included a skit making fun of President Bush–and was jeered for it.
While most of the crowd applauded politely, one heckler wouldn’t quiet down.
“Shut the [bleep] up!” La Streisand yelled, sparking applause. “Shut up if you can’t take a joke!” And snap! The catcalls stopped.
Streisand later apologized for the outburst, and even warmed up to the crowd. When one fan shouted, “Marry me, I’m gay!” the gay icon responded: “There are gay people here?”
The concert was Streisand’s third stop on a 20-city tour that brings her to the United Center on Nov. 7 and 9.
