Nancy Petring, 73, of Fort Collins, passed away Oct. 8, 2006. Nancy was born on Dec. 14, 1932 in Oak Park, IL to Carl and Marie , nee Fuhrman, Eckhardt. After high school, she attended Colorado University where she received her Bachelor’s degree. On Sept. 18, 1954, Nancy was united in marriage to Marshall Petring in Oak Park, IL. Together they lived in several places including Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Oak Park and Colorado Springs. She was a teacher and homemaker for her four children. In 1977, they moved to Fort Collins, where she was a member of a women’s circle at the First United Methodist Church, volunteered at the local food bank and was also a member of Chi Omega sorority alumni. Nancy loved to travel, and her favorite place to visit was Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia. Nancy is survived by her husband of 52 years, Marshall; sons, Michael Petring and his wife ,Monica, Brian Petring and his wife, Kelly and Eric Petring and his wife, Stacie; her daughter, Cynthia Andreatta and her husband, David; her sister, June Dunnell and her husband, John and their children, Scott and Amy; five granddaughters, Blair, Katherine, Taylor, Emily and Sophie. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006 at The First United Methodist Church, 1005 Stover St., Fort Collins.
