Violet Rupp Evett, age 80, of Missouri City, TX, formerly of South Holland, IL, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006. She was the second child of John and Mollie Rupp, born Nov. 25, 1925 in Sidney, MT. Violet graduated from Montana State College in 1946. She began her career in nursing as a cadet nurse in Chicago Heights, IL, was a staff nurse and head nurse at Ingalls Hospital in Harvey, IL, was director of nurses in Crown Point, IN, and was a staff nurse at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX. Violet was preceded in death by her husband, William Evett, Sr. Survivors include her son, William (Julie) Evett, II; daughters, Beverly (Ralph) Mulvihill and Janice (Jack) Lane; brothers, Clarence (Mary) Rupp and Lyle Rupp; sister, Gladys (Leroy) Besel; grandchildren, Molly Evett Zimmer, Christopher Evett, Melissa Mulvihill Schultz, Michael Mulvihill, Jack Lane, and Bill Lane; and six great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to visitation with the family from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, with a service beginning at 2 p.m., at Earthman Funeral Directors Southwest, 12555 South Kirkwood, Stafford, TX, with the Rev.
