John Calvin Morris. Described as a “man of the community” by his family and friends, former Wilmette resident John Calvin Morris, age 85, died of heart failure on Wednesday, October 11, in Niceville, Florida. The former President and CEO of Ekco/Glaco Inc., Morris was a devoted husband and father, motivated by family and faith throughout his life. Mr. Morris is survived by his four sons, John M. Morris of Niceville, FL; Kenneth A. Morris of Niceville, FL; Dr. Daniel G. Morris of Destin, FL and Kevin P. Morris of Edina, MN. In addition, he is also survived by seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and his current wife, Nancy. He is preceded in death by his wife of nearly fifty years, Mary Jane Morris, who passed away in 1993, six siblings and his son, David Lee, who died at birth. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2006 at Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Church of Niceville, Florida. There will be a visitation prior to the burial which will take place at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 14.
