If he is confused, however, about why “the word `liberal’ has become a pejorative,” he should consider how many who claim to be liberals have translated his seventh point from non-interference by sectarian faith into hostility to all faith.
Then he should think about how the protection of individual rights he eloquently expounds in Point 8 has been transformed into group rights and entitlements.
I would be interested in reading his thoughts on these things.
