Rex Grossman will be working for a different kind of ratings number Sunday when he sits in the ESPN studio in Bristol, Conn., for “Sunday NFL Countdown.” The Bears quarterback will fly to Connecticut on Saturday night and provide analysis of the Sunday games. Maybe he can ask ESPN’s Joe Theismann about the critical comments he made during Monday’s telecast. Grossman undoubtedly will be asked to address his measly passer rating of 10.7 Monday night against the Cardinals, but Grossman probably isn’t worried. Thanks to a weekly gig with Comcast SportsNet in Chicago during his injury rehabilitation, he is almost as experienced handling heat on camera as he is as an NFL quarterback in the pocket.
