While I don’t disagree completely with letter writer Barbara Bullen’s assessment that “I approve this message” on political advertising is dumb and aggravating (Voice of the people, Oct. 17), it is surely not the dumbest and most aggravating we must face regularly. That honor has to belong to the U.S. Postal Service, which continues to ask whether a letter or package presented for weighing and postage contains anything harmful, explosive, etc. Like someone really is going to tell the postal clerk it is if his intent is harm.
