After seeing the footage of Kenny Rogers’ run-in with a photographer last year, I wrote him off as one of the many athletes we classify as louts. He received a mere slap on the wrist while Dennis Rodman, considered a troublemaker, received a well-deserved fine and suspension for a similar run-in with a photographer years earlier.

Sunday evening confirmed that Rogers is indeed an athlete not to be exposed to our young children and grandchildren. He cheats, using a foreign substance while announcers and reporters fawn over his performance. How different is using steroids from entering the game with a foreign substance in the palm of one’s hand?
